Caribbean Cultural Centre Coming to A Computer Near You

A Different Booklist Cultural Centre (ADBCC) recently partnered with the Afri-Can FoodBasket and Pan Fantasy Steelband to host Filling the Gap: Love, Light and Hope Campaign – an emergency fund set up in response to COVID-19 “to support and give back to the Caribbean and African Canadian communities.”
The proceeds from this fund  provide food items and meals to seniors, single-parent families and those with special needs.
 The Cultural Centre is also using social media to provide online programming for children who are at home.
“People should check out our FaceBook site and watch what we have on  A Different Booklist Cultural Centre (ADBCC) YouTube channel,” said Itah Sadu, co-owner of  the ADBCC.
 ” Folks will see Welcome to Blackhurst Moments. an online exhibition that commemorates the contributions of Black immigrants to the Bathurst Steet neighbourhood.
“All our various social media sites are there to provide uplighting stories, tips, and a touch of humanity,” Sadu added.
” We have had mini concerts from our supporters and  forums of discussion that are both local and international in scope”
Today, author Nadia Hohn takes the spotlight with a reading from her children’s book, A Likkle Miss Lou.

 Moonzir Butt Wins! Mr. CHIN International Bikini 201l chosen today at the Scotiabank CHIN International Picnic,  the Bandshell, CNE Grounds, Toronto. WINNER: This year’s winner is 22-year old Moonzir Butt.  The Oakville native beat out 14 other contestants in this evening’s outdoor competition. Second prize was awarded to 29-year old John Burdo and third place went to Troy Campbell. The Trinidad Guardian says that it “is a crime so epidemic that Trinidad ranks second in the world only behind Colombia for its rate of abductions”.
