OTTAWA, Ontario (May 9th) — Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, is set to partake in a delightful afternoon tea with the renowned Famous People Players on May 28th in Etobicoke. This special occasion coincides with an anniversary luncheon and the dress rehearsal of the Players' latest production, "Believe in Magic!", commemorating the esteemed theatre company's 50th anniversary.

• Time: Tea Luncheon at 12.:30 PM
• Location: Dine and Dream Theatre, 343 Evans Ave, Etobicoke, ON
This unique visit will provide Her Excellency with the opportunity to meet the exceptional cast members, dedicated volunteers, high school students, educators, and trailblazers in the theatre community. As a key figure in raising awareness of significant issues and recognizing outstanding Canadians, the Governor General's presence underscores the importance of inclusivity and the arts in Canadian society.

Highlights of the Afternoon Reception:
• Dress Rehearsal: Witness the enchanting performance of "Believe in Magic!" by the talented Famous People Players.
• Awards Presentation: Three exceptional volunteers will be honoured for their contributions to the Famous People Players. community.
Special Guests: The guest list includes notable personalities including Steve Paikin (Emcee), Susan Hay and Salah Bachir.

Following this event, on June 1st, the celebration of the 50th anniversary will continue with a Gala evening at the Etobicoke Theatre.

 Moonzir Butt Wins! Mr. CHIN International Bikini 201l chosen today at the Scotiabank CHIN International Picnic,  the Bandshell, CNE Grounds, Toronto. WINNER: This year’s winner is 22-year old Moonzir Butt.  The Oakville native beat out 14 other contestants in this evening’s outdoor competition. Second prize was awarded to 29-year old John Burdo and third place went to Troy Campbell. The Trinidad Guardian says that it “is a crime so epidemic that Trinidad ranks second in the world only behind Colombia for its rate of abductions”.
